Political Goals of the Kerry Community Network

1. Build the Network
   • Co-brand TypePad blogging service
   • Recruit supporters to set up their Kerry blogs
   • Best blog posts are Trackbacked across the Internet, driving new supporters to the KCN
2. Embrace the Community Network
   • Provide feedback to supporter's ideas, promote best ideas to campaign senior staff for consideration
   • Encourage bi-directional communication between campaign/network
   • Build trust with identified community leaders
   • Cherry-pick the best blog content for republication in the online Kerry Magazine
3. Utilize the Community Network
   • Send targeted emails to groups based on demographic information collected upon registration
   • Provide "call to action" items
   • Encourage campaign contributions and do special online-only fundraisers
   • Organize KCN members to perform field ops
   • Self-reinforcing community encourages each other to perform tabling events, house parties, etc. - reporting on their blogs the turnout, with photos, etc.
   • Match KCN users who want to volunteer with state field offices
   • Provide field with lists of KCN blogs that relate to their constituencies, allowing them to communicate with identified supporters
   • Populate the Activism Center from the KCN
   • Allow KCN members to self-organize within their online community, set up their own events to evangelize Kerry, both online and offline
