Welcome to Southeastern Michigan Frontier Users Group!

Thu., Oct 8, 1998 at 11:01:54 AM

Sorry about the lack of updates. David Feldt and I have decided the first meeting for the Southeastern Michigan Frontier Users Group will be Sunday, October 18.

It will be held at David Feldt's house at 6:00 P.M. and should last about an hour. Here are the directions:

"I live at 3105 Sunnywood. This is on the West side of Ann Arbor about 5 blocks South of Webers Inn off Jackson Rd. The easiest way to find it is to head West on Jackson (Huron becomes Jackson about halfway between downtown and Stadium Blvd.) past Stadium (Westgate and Maple Village shopping centers) and under I-94. Make your first left at the BP gas station (just past the cemetery) and head straight south down Highlake one long block. Turn right on Sunnywood (Highlake dead ends about 150 feet further on, so there really isn't a lot of other choices) and go about 3 blocks until you reach Hazelwood. My house is the pointy Tudor, brick on bottom and half timber on top with loads of ivy crawling all over it right on the triangular point of land on the corner."

We will be doing basic introductions and talking about what each of us is using Frontier for. If you would like to do a demonstration, feel free to bring the necessary equipment and software. I believe David has a computer with Frontier loaded, so a Zip/Jaz/SCSI Drive would suffice. Any questions about this setup can be directed to David Feldt at dfeldt[at]adeptsys.com.

Other questions or schedule conflicts can be directed to Cameron Barrett at cameron[at]michweb.net.

Time to start thinking about a Fall meeting. This would also be our first meeting. The inauguration, if you will. Please email me if you're still interested in helping form this group.

Sorry about the long delay in updates, folks. I've been pretty busy earning that paycheck. Now it's time to start forming the founding group for the Ann Arbor/Detroit Frontier Users' Group, of which you're a part of.

Gavin: can we count on you to get us a meeting space at U of M?

As soon as a meeting place is secured, we can schedule our inaugural meeting. Sometime in the first two weeks of May would be best for me. Please let me know if there are any days that you cannot meet.

I have to say "thank you" Dave. Frontier is going to completely change the way I build web sites.

Wow. The hardest part about Frontier was learning how it handles images. Keep on digging...

We're currently seeking members.

We have no meeting time. We have no meeting place. Help us change that! Maybe we could arrange it so we can meet at Borders or UofM. Please send ideas. Email cameron[at]michweb.net if you're interested in helping me form this group.

If this design looks familiar to you, it's the design I kicked out for Dave last summer when he requested Scripting News re-design submissions from his readers.

From Cameron: I'm a Frontier newbie, but have regularly followed Scripting News for years.
