CamWorld Turns Nine

Just a quick note to mark this site's 9th birthday. I do not know if I will ever return to blogging on a more regular basis. So many other things are happening in my life right now that blogging has had to take a back seat. I still post whenever something happens in my life that warrants a write-up.

Say tuned for some big announcements in July and September.

I point ppl to your blog as one of the early uber bloggers, as most bloggers today have no real grasp of how blogs began with Tim BL in 1992 then the first wavers like yourself, Peter Merholz, Dave Winer, Doc Searls, Rebecca Blood, Justin Hall, etc.

So I ask that you consider updating this whenever the mood strikes you, just keep it going for history's sake and to have a long running blog.

Thanks.

Since the day I met you Cam, I've always been curious about the profile of an avid blogger -- what allows and motivates them to keep a personal blog up to date and why and how their blogging takes priority over other things they could be doing. I have never been able to make/find/justify the time to create and maintain a personal blog...although I maintained personal html-based pages starting in 1992 and had previously hosted personal content via earlier internet formats/protocols. These were experiments for me. It's an internal struggle -- why, what's the motivation, what about other priorities...

I think your motivations have evolved over time Cam, and now you write "I do not know if I will ever return to blogging on a more regular basis." Is it an issue of priorities and motivations? Is something else satisfying your need to blog? Are you in a position to reflect on how blogging becomes a priority having now found other, higher priorities?
